Web Development Foundation

Start Date

21st January 2019

Fees

£1500

Duration

12 weeks, Mondays and Wednesdays

This course aims to give you the ideal foundation in web development over a twelve week period.

Not only will you have the skills to build web applications but you will also be able to discuss code confidently, you will problem solve and you will have the skills to go on and learn further independently with us always here as support! You will be working on projects and activities to add context and hands on practice.

The course takes place two evenings a week and, although there is no homework, we will always provide (non compulsory) activities and information to further your learning outside of the classroom.

Days: Mondays and Wednesdays

Location: Clerkenwell (Barbican, Old Street and Farringdon the nearest stations).

Time: 7.30pm until 9.30pm (you can arrive earlier and use the space to relax, eat, work, catch up, etc).

Your peers: There will be a maximum of 14 people in a class. Everyone comes with different life experiences, and backgrounds. Some people want to go on to be developers, others to run their own companies, some are upskilling in their current roles. What everyone has in common, is a desire to learn and support one another. You can read some of our student stories here.

Sick days/days off: We know that you’re committed, but sometimes life/immune systems get in the way! We run catch – up sessions an hour before the next session, or we can help on Skype/phone/Slack.

Truthfully, we do not have an ideal student! We believe everyone can learn how to code as long as they have a strong desire to learn.

Here are a few reasons why you may want to join us:

  • You are curious about technology
  • You are looking to start a career as a developer
  • You want to start your own company
  • You want to build something in your spare time
  • You want to understand what your coworkers do
  • You have other skills that code can complement (graphic design, illustration, science, knitting…to name a few.)
  • You want to learn from people who do this every day
  • You want to learn in a supportive, open environment
  • Like us, you believe the culture in the tech industry needs to change and you want to be part of that change

You will need a laptop and a charger. We do not provide these.

If you forget your laptop at home one session, let us know so we can make sure we have one ready for you in class.

Once the course ends, it’s not goodbye from us. In fact, we like to think of it as the beginning. We have a community Facebook group for our alumni, we are always a Slack message, text, email, tweet or call away and we have an alumni newsletter keeping you updated on opportunities, news and more!

Internships: All of our students are invited to take an internship place with one of our carefully curated partners. We work with you to make it work for you to fit around your lifestyle, work and home commitments.

Career Development: If you are looking for a career in web development, we will have a one to one discussion on goals and create a roadmap together to achieve this. We will be there with you every step of the way. Although, we do not guarantee employment, we pride ourselves on helping our students reach their full and desired potential. Further Training: All of our alumni are entitled to family discounts for life on future training with us.

£1,500 GBP

We offer payment plans – get in touch with us to talk about this further.
